The History of Vaughn Creek Estates
|
In May of 2005 a contract was put on a 22 acre
parcel of land on Vaughn's Creek. The purchasers being from the
metro area saw the potential to give people like themselves the
opportunity to escape the city. Between closing and December of
2005 the property had been divided into 6 waterfront lots, a
road was built and 4 of the lots sold. No one has built on their
lot as of yet. The buyers were either looking to build their
retirement home or purchasing for an investment. After the sale
of the 4 lots the developers withdrew the other 2 lots from
the market.
All lots in the subdivision are governed by
restrictive covenants requiring a minimum home size of 2600
square feet. This was done to protect the integrity and value of
those homes to be built in Vaughn Creek Estates. |
 |
You can go to the nursery and buy
shrubs and bushes but you can’t buy stately oaks, mature
hardwoods, and large holly trees.
Vaughn Creek Estate offers this.
These mature trees give the owner a feeling of privacy without
having to own a large parcel of land. This elevated lot on
scenic Vaughn Creek offers a protected harbor even in the worst
of weather. Good water depth close to shore.
Boating activities include good fishing, water skiing, and shark
tooth hunting at nearby Shark Tooth’s Island and Westmoreland
State Park. Waterfront dining at both Virginia and Maryland
restaurants is a boat ride away. |
