About Reedville Real Estate

Reedville was named after Captain Elijah Reed who founded the menhaden industry here.
More can be learned about the industry and its value to this county by visiting the Reedville Fishermen's Museum.
Once know as the wealthiest town in the United States because of the money made from the menhaden industry, factory owners built their homes along main street known as "Millionaire's Row" .
In 2006 Reedville ranked 3rd in commercial fishing ports behind Dutch Harbor, AL and Intracostal City, LA with 372.5 million pounds of product.
Reedville is located at the head of Cockrells Creek along the Western Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Visitors enjoy staying in one of the B&B's on main street and eating in the local eateries where fresh seafood is always available.
The fishermen's museum not only helps preserve the history but host many annual events and workshops.
