Northern Neck News Real Estate October

Dear {FirstName},

Here it is the latter part of October and I'm just now getting this newsletter out.

There have really been some exciting things happening in my life. I have been ready to bust waiting for the right time to tell you.

As you all know I am president of The Virginia Waterman's Association and a true advocate for a clean and healthy Bay. Well guess what. We might actually be at a point when we start to see some real results.
I go to a ton of meetings and meet with hundred's of people. They seem supportive and realize the Virginia oyster is a filter feeder that could help clean the Bay. I just haven't been able to go anywhere with it. Well guess what! I finally found someone who sees the picture.
In July I meet this guy and we started talking. Almost the first thing out of his mouth was the Virginia oyster could be used to clean the Bay. BANG!! We bounced our thoughts and ideas off each other and the next thing you know The Oyster Company of Virginia was formed.
In the spring of 2011 The Oyster Company of Virginia will supply 12 watermen from Poquoson to the Northern Neck with the equipment to raise 2,000,000 oysters each. That's 24 million oysters going in the water and they will be getting at least that many each year thereafter. Hopefully we can have 50 watermen doing this in the next 2 years.
This is the part that is so cool. Watermen are getting their aquaculture cages from people who join The Oyster Company of Virginia by buying cages. One of the many benefits from the membership is the use of the company's eco island retreat.
Eco Island is a special eco property with over 125 acres comprised of upland forest, fields, vegetated wetlands and filled with a variety of wildlife in Gloucester, Virginia. Members will be able to hike, kayak, bird watch, and just enjoy all that the retreat has to offer. Sometimes there are even porpoises out in front playing
Another aspect of the company are the 30 acre aqua farms that  we have developed. I'll tell you more about that at a later time. But 1 of these aqua farms has the ability to remove more nitrogen from the water than the Baltimore Waste Treatment Plant removes annually. Think about that and good it can do for the Bay.
We have already picked up a lot of press and it has all been good. Here is an article you might enjoy. You can also follow The Oyster Company of Virginia on Facebook.
Now for the real estate part of this newsletter. Yes I still sell real estate and you can search the Northern Neck MLS.
Go ahead search the MLS. If you see something you like give me a call. There have been some properties sold  in the last couple of months. You'd be surprised at how low some went for.
Next month maybe I'll get November's newsletter out on time. Until then I wish you the best.
