November 2005 Fishing |

Gordon and I were catching fish like these in the Rappahannock earlier this month. You are only allowed to keep 2 per person. They have to be over 18 inches. On this day we probably caught 50 or more. We were throwing 24 inch fish back overboard. Whenever you go fishing there are always boats out there that never catch anything. You should have seen their faces as we were throwing fish back.

When it has been a calm day this month we have been going out in the bay and fishing on one of the wrecks out there in 120 feet of water. Although you are allowed 2 fish per person over 18 inches you can't keep fish between 28 - 34 inches. A lot of what we were catching fell into that slot, so again we were throwing fish back. This is one that went over 34 inches, not by much but he was a keeper and weighed about 17 LBS. It is the biggest fish we have caught this year but it won't be for long. The big fish will be in our part of the bay pretty soon. |
