Northern Neck Marina and Waterfront Restaurant

Filed under: Real Estate — admin @ 8:22 am

I have been talking with the owner of a waterfront restaurant and marina about listing his property for sale.

This marina and restaurant are in Fairport on Cockrells Creek. Close to Reedville, Virginia.

This is an established business and zoned commercial.

Included with the restaurant and marina is a single family waterfront home.

Northern Neck Oyster Hatchery

Filed under: *Fishing and Crabbing*, *Living in the Northern Neck* — admin @ 4:35 am

A grant is trying to be obtained for a feasibility study for a oyster hatchery here in the Northern Neck.

It is being hyped as bringing the oyster industry back to the Northern Neck with the possibility of producing billions of seed oysters.

Please pay attention to this as it progresses. Billions of oysters would save the bay with their filtering ability.

If there are going to be goverment funds to conduct this study then the results of that study should benefit the public and not just the private oyster companies.

More than bringing the oyster industry back to the Northern Neck the restoration of the Chesapeake Bay is a bigger concern. The oyster could do that.

Northern Neck Buyer’s Market 1.27.2008

Filed under: Real Estate — admin @ 9:20 am

Not only in the Northern Neck but everywhere the market is right.

With the Feds lowering rates last week the 30 year rate is under 5.5% and the 15 Year rate is under 5%.

With lower rates and property values adjusting Northern Neck Real Estate and waterfront property are drawing more interest again.

Northern Neck Waterman are the Victims not the Culprits

Filed under: *Fishing and Crabbing*, *Living in the Northern Neck* — admin @ 8:56 am

As most know I was a waterman before I became a Realtor.

I enjoy meeting new people and working as a real estate salesman here in the Northern Neck. However, I would still be working on the water if it were as profitable as it once was.

Yesterday I went to the VMRC meeting in Newport News. Again they want to take more from the waterman even though it is proven that the water is not overfishing. Other factors have resulted in the decline of the Chesapeake Bay's resources but again the the Commission is attacking the waterman.

New Waterfront Lots in the Northern Neck’s Northumberland County

Filed under: Real Estate — admin @ 6:46 pm

The lots I mentioned in my last post are in Northumberland County.

These lots are on Cod Creek which opens in to the lower Potomac River.

As you come out of Cod Creek you look across the river and you see St. Mary's County, MD, Point Lookout, and the Chesapeake Bay.

Northern Neck Real Estate is a valuable asset and these waterfront lots are will be offered at a price to sell.

This is a perfect opportunity.

New Year in the Northern Neck

Filed under: Real Estate — admin @ 7:55 am

2008 has started off COLD but things are getting ready to change.

For the next few days the temperature is going to be in the 60's. I love hearing that because on warm days in the winter months it is kind of nice to get in your boat and run out in the Chesapeake Bay or one of the Northern Neck's many rivers.

The last few days the weather might have been cold but I'm hoping the real estate market will be HOT with the coming of spring as we have some new lots coming on the market (just developed). They should be in the Northern Neck MLS in the next couple of months.
