Northern Neck Newsletter Will Be Coming Out Soon

Filed under: Real Estate — admin @ 6:00 pm

In just a couple of days I'll be sending out the November Newsletter for Northern Neck Real Estate along with happenings around the Northern Neck for November.

There is always a link in the Newsletter that will let you search the Northern Neck MLS.

You can save these searches and be notified when properties that meet your criteria become available.

If setting up an automated search is frustrating to you then just email me the criteria of the waterfront home or waterfront property that you would like to find and I'll set it up for you.

Wal-Mart comes to the Northern Neck

Filed under: *Living in the Northern Neck* — admin @ 4:35 pm

The much anticipated Wal-Mart opened its doors in Kilmarnock today.

For weeks all I've been hearing is, "I'm not going to Wal-Mart on the first day."

Well I figured since nobody was going then I would and I'd probably have the place practically to myself.

I was wrong on that one. The parking lot was packed and I finally found a spot almost in the rear of the store.

I was one that wasn't in favor of Wal-Mart coming but I must admit it is a nice store and I'll probably do a lot of shopping there.

Rain in the Forecast for the Northern Neck

Filed under: *Living in the Northern Neck* — admin @ 9:03 am

Like most of the southeast we here in the Northern Neck need Rain.

Well it is on its way as we are expected to get 1" by tomorrow and it is forecasted again for Friday and Saturday along with winds and cooler temperatures. This should also move the rockfish and the fishing should improve.

I know we need rain but I can tell you this, the clarity of the water has really improved during this drought. What does that tell you?

It tells me that runoff of rain is hitting the Chesapeake Bay. We need to do more to filter the runoff and then we need to reestablish the oyster industry so the oysters can filter what gets by.

Northern Neck Real Estate on Lawrence Cove

Filed under: Real Estate — admin @ 11:14 am

waterfront homeIf you are looking for a great deal on a waterfront property then this is one of them.

This 2000 plus square foot waterfront home sits on a 4.9 acre waterfront lot.

Minutes from Kilmarnock and the Chesapeake Bay.

Large Garage

The property is on Lawrence Cove on Dividing Creek.

Beautifully landscaped and priced at $525,000.

This piece of Northern Neck Real Estate is in one of the most sought after areas of the Northern Neck. There is absolutely NO WAY that you could buy a lot like this and make the improvements that this property has for the price it is being offered at.

This is not my listing but if you have an interest I would love to be your Buyer's Agent.

Northern Neck Republicans Gather for Oyster Roast

Filed under: *Living in the Northern Neck* — admin @ 8:19 am

Northumberland County Republican Party sponsored their annual oyster roast at Cowart Seafood Saturday, October 20, 2007.

Hundreds of people from all counties of the Northern Neck showed up to show support for the Republican canidates running for office.

The event continues to grow every year so next October look for signs showing up about the oyster roast and then show up. You'll have a great time and you will learn what is being done politically to help the Northern Neck.

Northern Neck Real Estate Is Off To A Fast Start in October

Filed under: Real Estate — admin @ 9:34 am

With low interest rates, a booming stock market, and a fantastic buyer's market real estate in the Northern Neck of Virginia and the Chesapeake Bay is off to a fast start in the month of October.

I would much rather be a buyer's agent/representative in today's market than than the other way around.

It is a lot easier to put a smile on your client's face when finding them a good deal than telling the seller they need to lower their price in order to sell.

Northern Neck Fishing

Filed under: *Living in the Northern Neck* — admin @ 8:35 am

The rock fish season opened on October 4.

The weather has been warm and there don't seem to be many fish schooled up yet.

I have had some luck trolling small bucktails around the towers in the Rappahannock River.

Hopefully this cool weather with have the action picking up.

There have been a lot of fish in the jetties at Smith Point but if you can only fish on the weekends expect it to be like a parking lot.
